Built around the way you live. When it comes to custom kitchens in Toronto, quality starts with local craftsmanship - every kitchen designed and built from the ground up in our own Ontario factory.
Quality starts local.
Since 1997, founder Apic Imasdounian and the Apico team have completed over 1,000 kitchen and cabinetry projects across the Greater Toronto Area. With four decades of industry experience behind every design decision, we bring a level of precision and craftsmanship that simply cannot be replicated by stock or semi-custom alternatives.
Our custom kitchens are built using frameless construction for maximum interior storage, premium plywood and MDF substrates, and finishes applied with premium paint systems for outstanding durability. Every drawer runs on full-extension, soft-close slides as standard - because quality hardware is not an upgrade, it is a baseline.
What we build into the room.
Our custom kitchens are designed to address every element of the room, not just the cabinets along the wall. Each project is tailored to your cooking habits, storage needs, and aesthetic preferences.
Kitchen Islands
A well-designed island can serve as a prep station, dining surface, storage hub, and gathering point. We build islands in every configuration - with integrated sinks, cooktop cutouts, waterfall countertops, open shelving, or concealed storage.
Pantry Cabinets
From walk-in pantry systems with pull-out shelving to tall single-unit pantries with interior organizers, we design pantry storage that keeps everything accessible. Full-extension drawers and adjustable shelving are standard.
Door Styles & Finishes
Shaker doors, flat veneer, high-gloss lacquer, exotic wood species - walnut, cherry, zebrano. All finishes applied using premium paint systems, stains, and glazes.
Material Options
Plywood construction for superior structural integrity. MDF panels for smooth, consistent paint finishes. Frameless European-style construction to maximize usable interior space.
Appliance Panels
Integrated appliance panels, range hood enclosures, wine racks, spice pull-outs, and custom mouldings. Every finishing detail so your kitchen reads as one cohesive design.
Hardware
European soft-close hinges, full-extension drawer slides, and Blum electric auto-open on handle-free designs. All hardware European-sourced for precision and long-term reliability.
Honest advice on doors and finishes.
Your two biggest decisions are the door profile and the finish, and they drive both the look and the budget. Painted is typically more expensive than stained, and intricate raised-panel profiles cost more than shaker or flat panels because of the machining involved. We walk you through those trade-offs before you commit to anything, because the right answer depends on how you cook and how long you plan to stay in the house.
On materials, we are opinionated: solid wood for door faces where durability matters most, MDF where a perfectly smooth painted surface is the goal - always sealed against moisture. Every painted door is sprayed with premium paint systems in our controlled finishing environment and hand-inspected before it leaves the factory. Stains and glazes get the same treatment, whether the species is maple or zebrano.
Kitchens we specialise in.
Who We Build ForHeritage home renovations
In established Toronto neighbourhoods, cabinetry has to respect existing architectural details - original trim, crown profiles, uneven plaster walls - while introducing modern storage and hardware. We scribe and fit to the house as it actually is.
New construction kitchens
For custom home builders, we coordinate with trades from the earliest stages of the build, so rough-ins, appliance specs, and cabinetry dimensions are aligned before drywall goes up.
Condo kitchens
In downtown Toronto, space efficiency and smart storage are paramount. Compact galley runs, full-height pantries, and integrated appliance panels make a small footprint work harder.
Estate kitchens
In King City, Kleinburg, and the surrounding areas, expansive layouts call for premium materials and showpiece design - oversized islands, veneer-matched runs, and exotic wood species.
Each of these project types demands a different approach, and nearly three decades of building all of them - from Forest Hill heritage kitchens to new builds in Kleinburg - means we understand the nuances that make each one successful.
