Materials & Finishes

The quality of custom cabinetry begins with the materials.

We select every substrate, hardware component, and finishing product for long-term performance and aesthetic integrity.

01

Frameless (European-style) construction

Eliminates the face frame to maximize usable interior space. Cabinet boxes built from premium plywood and MDF substrates, chosen based on application and finish requirements.

02

Door styles & exotic wood species

Shaker, flat veneer, high-gloss lacquer, or natural wood - walnut, cherry, zebrano. For versatility, grain direction, and visual depth.

03

Premium finishes

Every painted surface is sprayed with premium paint systems in a controlled finishing environment, then hand-inspected before installation. The result is a smoother, more durable surface with stronger resistance to scratches, stains, household chemicals, and daily kitchen wear than stock cabinet finishes.

04

Hardware as standard - not an upgrade

Full-extension soft-close drawer slides and European concealed hinges come standard. For handle-free designs, Blum electric auto-open systems are available.

Kitchen designer consulting with homeowners
Who We Work With

Homeowners, designers, and the trades.

Our client base spans homeowners, condo owners, custom home builders, general contractors managing multi-trade renovations, and multi-generational repeat clients who have returned to us over the years - all across Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area.

That work stretches from heritage renovations in Forest Hill and Rosedale to new builds in King City and Kleinburg, condo fit-outs downtown, and everything in between. For contractors, our four-to-eight-week manufacturing schedule and our own installation crew make us a dependable partner on multi-trade timelines.

The Apico Difference

What working with a manufacturer gets you.

We are not a showroom reselling someone else's boxes. We sand, spray, and build every piece ourselves - and the way we work reflects it.

01

A mobile showroom that comes to you

We bring material samples, door profiles, finish swatches, and hardware directly to your home - free. You make selections in your actual lighting, alongside your existing decor, without a single trip to a retail location.

02

Our own installation crew

Installation is never outsourced. The same team that builds your cabinetry in our factory sees it fitted, scribed, and adjusted in your home - most kitchen installs take three to four days.

03

Warranties that reflect our confidence

A lifetime warranty on hardware and a five-year warranty on finishes. Not limited warranties with extensive exclusions - straightforward commitments to the durability of our work.

04

Industry recognition

Members of the NKBA and BILD, recognized as a BILD Award finalist, and NARI certified. Our five-star reviews on Google, Houzz, and HomeStars speak to the consistency of the client experience.

FAQ

Custom Cabinetry FAQ

For most projects involving cabinetry and countertops, prices range from $7,000 for compact spaces (like a condo kitchen or large vanity run) up to $70,000 or more for full-scale estate projects, with most kitchen projects averaging $15,000 to $25,000. The final cost is primarily determined by your choice of finish (painted vs. stained) and the complexity of the door profile (flat panel vs. shaker vs. raised panel).

The typical manufacturing timeline is six to eight weeks from the finalization of the design to installation. While the total process takes time, the actual on-site disruption is minimal. Demo and preparation usually take 4-6 days, cabinet installation takes 3-4 days, and countertop templating/install takes another 2 days.

Both have their place. We typically use solid wood for door faces because of its natural durability and the ability to touch up the finish. MDF is excellent for painted cabinetry because it provides a perfectly smooth surface, and our MDF is sealed with a protective layer to resist moisture. It really depends on your desired look and usage requirements.

Yes, we are a one-stop shop. We provide all the hardware and coordinate the fabrication and installation of countertops. We work with granite, quartz, marble, and other premium stones to ensure that every element of your cabinetry fits perfectly.

Every piece we build is manufactured in our Ontario workshop. We handle everything in-house - from CNC machining and assembly to premium paint application and final hardware installation. This regional control ensures a level of quality and accountability that importers simply can't match.

Stock cabinetry is mass-produced in fixed sizes and limited finish options. It is designed to fit the most common room layouts but rarely fits a specific space perfectly. Custom cabinetry is designed and built to the exact dimensions of your room, with your chosen materials, finishes, door styles, and interior configurations. The result is a significantly better fit, more efficient use of space, and a finished appearance that stock options cannot achieve.

Yes. A significant portion of our work is with builders, general contractors, and developers across the GTA. We coordinate with trades, accommodate construction schedules, and can outfit multiple units or homes within a single development. Builders appreciate our consistent quality, reliable timelines, and competitive pricing at scale.

We serve the entire Greater Toronto Area, including but not limited to Forest Hill, Rosedale, downtown Toronto, King City, Kleinburg, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham, Mississauga, and Oakville. Our mobile showroom allows us to bring the full consultation experience directly to your home, regardless of location within the GTA.

Every project begins with a general pricing estimate based on your initial consultation. Once you have selected your materials, finishes, and layout, we provide a detailed, accurate quote reflecting your specific choices. There are no hidden fees - you know exactly what you are investing before we begin manufacturing.
